  1. I recommend separating Tom Cruise from the Ethan Hunt character. There will be a day when a new actor will be Ethan. Hunt is the proverbial Boy Scout: always prepared and doing good. And much like Superman, without the super powers, but the super sacrifice, which is not being able to be with the one he loves because he can’t put them at risk. This is the emotional component and religious connection — sacrifice and love.

Justin highlighted a scene, “Didn’t know if he was going to make it out of this one.” It isn’t only the actual getting out of the situation, but surviving the emotional loss having to give up the love of his life. Rebecca plays the role of the soft landing parachute;)
